Where to begin...

My grandmother recently turned 100 - impressive, I know.  It wasn't until a few years ago that I began to realize all the stories my grandmother had to tell - she was born in a time without electricity in her home, she lived through the Great Depression and WWII, she has 100 years of life - I can only imagine all the change she has seen. Since her 100th birthday, I've started thinking about all the stories I'll have to tell and the memories that I'm making every day - and not even realizing it! I wanted to create this blog as a way to store those memories so that I can look back at them fondly in the years to come.

So, a little background and to catch this blog up-to-speed...

My parents are living the life in Florida. They live in The Villages - about an hour north of Orlando. Their house recently underwent construction - they added a beautiful pool and pretty landscaping... I can't wait to visit! They did sell my beautiful childhood home (which I'm still kind of bitter about) but they are very happy and creating new adventures of their own so I'm very happy for them.

My sister (Melissa), brother-in-law (Mike), nephew (Andrew - 2), and niece (Addison - 3 months) live in Mountain House, California. Way too far away.  I don't like feeling like I'm missing out on seeing my nephew and niece grow up. Hopefully my brother-in-law will be able to get a job closer to home eventually!

And finally - my boyfriend (Mike) lives in Chicago. He's from Doylestown but moved to Chicago for a job... he'll be moving back to Doylestown in about 6 months all because of me! Mike and I met on February 15, 2013 at the Mosquito Grille. We actually met several years previously - we went to the same high school. He was a year older than me and even though we knew who each other were, we weren't friends and never actually talked. But, that would all change one Friday night at the Grille. I remember Mike walking into the bar and thinking to myself "hmm... I wonder what his story is these days". Well, Mike must have been wondering the same thing about me - he approached me! I remember him asking how I had been, where I was working... he was very good at making small talk. We ended up hitting it off and over a year later, we are head over heels for each other.
